When Engaging multiple threats your first step should be to PIN all hostiles while flying into the engagement but before initial contact is made so that your squadron is ready. Be sure to be clear what threat is getting assigned to what number with your squad, "Playername78 is threat/target 1" and so on.
Using your keyboard to Pin Targets:
Alt+1, Alt+2, and Alt+3
Keys to go to corresponding targets:
1 , 2 , 3
FYI: You can track up to ten targets if you have room to map them all using the above combination and 0-9 keys or peripheral.
Commanding officers and pilots with gunners need to be vocal with "Call Outs" during engagements to direct your gunner or squad mates. A Call Out directs everyone who to be targeting and shooting at. However, If a gunner or individual has a line of sight and prime opportunity to inflict damage, they should take that shot.
They should vocalize that shot with their pilot or squad as well as primary and secondary targets established above, for example:
"Target 3 primary, target 2 secondary!" or if the gunner has an effective alternate shot:
"I'm effective on target 1" or "target 1 good Hits"
If you need to break away from combat to asses damage or shields, be sure to communicate that with your fellow officers: "I'm Disengaging!"
